The park office has been relocated to the old ranger station, beside the lodge. The new address is 10220 Burr Oak Lodge Road, Glouster, Ohio 45732.
Renovations to the main campground: the park has installed 17-electric paved campsites, 44-60, the entire park has been repaved.
ODNR has modified the current horsepower at Burr Oak for the upcoming boating season starting April 1, 2009. The lake is involved in a pilot study. The modification would allow boats with motors in excess of ten horsepower to operate on the lake at NO WAKE SPEED.
No wake, as defined by law, has the same meaning as "Idle Speed", which means the slowest possible speed needed to maintain steerage or maneuverability.
No change for boats with motors of ten horsepower or less. Existing users will continue to operate as in the past.
The intent of this change is to allow greater fishing access without altering the quiet nature of the lake.
Burr Oak Lake was selected for the pilot study due to its size and location.
The Division of Parks and Division of Watercraft will work together to ensure increased law enforcement coverage on Burr Oak Lake during this pilot study.
